‘Contributing’ to problems

When Written: April 2007

The other day we had to install Macromedia’s content management product, Contribute 4 one of the installations of Dreamweaver here, as the web site client was using this version. However it seems that Dreamweaver will only recognise Contribute 2 and 3, so an email to the support desk was in order. Within a couple of hours a ‘fix’ came back in the form of a .reg file that altered the registry settings for Dreamweaver which worked like a dream.

The contents of the file are too long to reproduce here but an email to support should result in a copy if you are having the same problem. Macromedia also offered another solution in the form of an updater program at http://download.macromedia.com/pub/contribute/updates/3/contribute_3_11_updater.zipwhich may also work.
